The Writer Behind the Words
Becky Troup writes in a variety of genres — from self-help for neurodivergent adults and adult children of estranged families, to cozy fiction, fantasy, and dystopian TV series.
She spent her twenties adventuring: traveling, taking risks, checking items off a bucket list that included skydiving, solo cruises, and moving across the country sight unseen. Her thirties brought parenthood, and creativity started creeping in around the edges. But it wasn't until her mid-forties that she finally committed to listening to the muse that was all but screaming to be heard.
She enjoyed her path along the way — holding over thirty jobs; a predictable cycle of ADHD burnout and shifting interests playing out again and again. She's been a massage therapist, served in the Navy, tried coding and web design, and a handful of other careers. While all advice told her to pick something, Becky felt alive with exploration.
Now, near fifty, she's ready to write her heart out each day, breaking to take the dogs for a walk, gaming with her husband, and supporting her daughter's interests. She lives in California (for the time being) with her husband, daughter, and two large dogs.
